Connect Your Custom Logo Design & Brand Identity

Connect Your Custom Logo Design & Brand Identity

Custom Logo Design and Brand Identity tend to get confused as the same thing. However, they’re not. Your brand identity describes all aspects of your business, which includes your logo. Your logo, however, is just one aspect of your brand. It defines your brand in a way, but not completely. In today’s blog, we’ll talk about how you can connect your custom logo design to your brand identity.

Custom Logo Design and Brand Identity: Making The Connection

First of all, what is the difference between a logo and a brand? A logo is an easy to recognize visual symbol that describes your business, product or service. A custom logo makes it easy to delineate your brand from others, and make it stand out. Usually, logos are either abstract or typographic. In short, they are the visual side of your brand. A brand, however, is different. Your brand is the mission and vision of your company. It’s what customers think about when they buy your services of products. A brand is emotional as much as it is visual. It creates a personal connection with a customer. This combination of physical and emotional cues is triggered when exposed to all the touch points between a person and a specific brand.

Now, how do you make the leap from understanding brand vs. logo to connecting them? First of all, a custom designed logo enables people to quickly identify your brand. This is the main asset of the logo––instant connection. A brand voice creates consistency across different social mediums, and the logo helps reinforce this consistency. According to The Branding Journal, “Brands can play with logo design to differentiate themselves from the competition. The use of different colors, shapes, styles, and typographies for the logo design are a great way to show what your brand is and is not, as compared to the competitors. A relevant logo design will also help people recall the brand within the industry.”

Remember, logo design and brand identity are not the same thing. But they do complement each other and work together. Learn more about our brand identity and logo design services here.
